Ning: Application Development

I signed up for there developer account early this morning and have not heard anything back yet.  Looking forward to trying it out.  Here’s Dave Winer’s thoughts on it.

To, into, or toward that place: wouldn’t go there again.

At that stage, moment, or point: Stop there before you make any more mistakes.

In that matter: I can’t agree with him there.

Used to introduce a clause or sentence: There are numerous items. There must be another exit.

Used to indicate an unspecified person in direct address: Hello there.

Their (correct for this application in your blog)=

adj. The possessive form of they.

Used as a modifier before a noun: their accomplishments; their home town.

Usage Problem. His, her, or its: “It is fatal for anyone who writes to think of their sex” (Virginia Woolf).

PS. All this from and ESL kid and a feisty one at that. Boo-yah! I still luv ya mate! :-P

I’m being a nitpick and trying to educate you on the use of “their” vs. “there” - how sad is that, considering I’m an import… :-P

Imports know MORE about the English language than the AVERAGE native English speaker. No surprises there! Still don’t understand what you were saying. Please explain and thanks.
