McFadden’s in Portland

Part of last nite consisted of a stop at a shithole bar called Mcfadden’s. I think I may have liked a bar like this when I was 21. Now, it just makes me laugh. Fine for one nite out, but it will not become a place a frequent regularly.

Funny stuff: No consistent music type…like “Pour some Sugar on Me” (the dj turns off sound during the chorus so everyone can sing out loud) to modern top40. Folks are grinding and sweating all over the dance floor and guys are getting ready to fight for the littlest bump.

As I left the bar once, I accidentally bumped a girl next to me. The group of guys around her were all amped and seemed like they wanted to rumble. I apologized but that wasn’t good enuff…”Buy the girl a drink” blah, blah, blah. It made us all laugh as we left the bar…

Reminder to self: don’t go there again.

We have a McFadden’s here in Baltimore on the east coast and your observation made me laugh because it is the same exact crowd and mix of bad music over here on the opposite side of the country. I too, used to go to places like this, think it was cool, and not see the humor and different prespective that I see now.
