In the News past 24 hours

BootsnAll has been listed/featured 3 times in the past 24 hours or so.  PDX Biz Journal and Washington Post and then just now in Forbes.

Amid all this recent press stuff, it got me thinking about happiness and how to continue to strive for it.    I am happy to get recognized, but I know this stuff does not lead to salvation for me.

Maybe is was the few people that I talked to in the past 24 hours about non-work related stuff that were inspiring to me and it had nothing todo with others telling them how gr8 or how much they sucked.  A yoga teacher talked to me about touchy feely stuff and an architect who told me, "I work to live, not live to work".  Interesting thoughts…back to work for me now. :)   Wish I had more time to reflect on them.

“I work to live not live to work.” Work and living can enhance or detract from one another. Depends. If someone hates what they do, obviously, they are working to live, but if they combine a passion with how they sustain themselves, then living to work becomes purposeful, meaningful and deeply satisfying.

Some people don’t particularly like what they do for a living, but their jobs give them recognition, status or some power which, in turn, provides them with a sense of well being. Others simply hate the idea of work - no matter what.

Many different ways of viewing the above statement.
