Can Children Communicate Effectively?

Teacher’s take on children’s communication
requires regio

More and more, children are entering school with poor  communication skills. As an English teacher, I find it increasingly difficult to engage my students in discussions about ideas relating to the literature we read in class. Their ability to sustain a conversation and to generate thoughts and opinions is limited. When my students are called upon to look within and investigate ideas, they come up empty much of the time. This does not mean that they lack intelligence; they simply abandon an issue without due reflection. Conversation on a specific topic requires sustained consideration.

Another thing I’ve noticed about students these days is that when they encounter an obstacle in problem solving, they become frustrated instantly and give up.
Current forms of entertainment and highly stimulating electronic items which offer instant gratification impede mind work that requires focused attention.
