Sean - if you end up in Budapest there is a great restaurant called Fatal on a side street near the pedestrian walkway.. HUGE portions of great, traditonal Hungarian food for not a bad price.

It will be a cold trip to Romania. May to October might have been a better choice. That said enjoy the food and beutiful girls. There is something to talk about. If you have time in Bucharest try to go to a restaurant called
BOLTA RECE, great food, might not be cheap though.
If you do not find this specific one do not despair, there are many more great places to eat in Romania. Make sure you do not miss Ciorba de burta ( tripe soup) and Mici ( some small sausages with no skin.
Have a great trip
