PDX and U of I/RTW

At PDX waiting for my flight to LAX.  U of I is making a run in the 2nd half to make this a game - back w/in 5 - but North Carolina still looks strong.  I do love it when a less talented team (U of I) tries to compete and beat a more talented team (UNC)…not many times does the underdawg win - but when they do - it is beautiful.

I remember Mr. Mau - in like 5th grade gym class - told us - Basketball is one of those games where a team though not as big, strong, quick - if they play together well - is capable of beating a vastly superior talented team.  Villinova 20 years ago was a good example.  Maybe Illini will do it here.

I’m at Gustav’s near gate C-6 - seems like mostly UNC fans here.  Sean May keeps powering it up and no one can stop him.  Reminds me of little of Shaq…power - not pretty - but effective.

In the past 72 hours or so…

Was lucky enuff to meet-up with Gerry Ellis of Globio via HB.  We talked at length about how his organization came to being…hopefully, when I get back - I’ll be able to contribute in someway.

Illini down by 7 and under 10 minutes to go.

I have a 3 hour layover in LAX and then a 12+ hour flight to Hong Kong - then connect to Bali.  I spoke with Nick a few hours ago.  He is raring to go and seems happy.  Ika is well and getting bigger.  Very soon I can see for myself.

Today I posted over a Bootblog about this trip.  I am trying to figure out what to post on bootblog and what to post over here.  I would like to post in both places…maybe personal stuff here and total travel stuff on bootblog.  It reminds me - in the old days - I would post both personal stories and BnA stuff on bootblog.  Funny stuff.

Illini down by 7 - under 7 minutes to go.

Last time I was in Bali

Last time I was in India

U of I down by 2 - under 6 to go

U of I down by 3 - less than 4 to go.

Last time I was in Poland - I "blogged" in my handwritten journal…never been to Romania..for my friends that don’t know ioan - he will pick my up in Bucharest and we will hang out in his hometown and who knows where else for a week.

Illini down by 3 - under 3

gotta goto flight soon.

70 all: 2:32 to go - Lurther head just hit a 3 pointer…unreal.

This morning - the OC register republished the spring break AP article that we were in…that article has a lot of legs

tied - under 2

UNC up 2 - under 1.5

72-60 1.02 left - U of I ball

The ball is packed - no one wants to leave fgor there flights.

Gotta shut down - go Illini..

Loved reading about Gerry Ellis and Globio…very interesting and exciting learning opportunities for children and educators. I wish I would have known about when I was teaching…I’ll have to pass it along to some friends who are still in the classroom.

Hey Sean. I’m sorry we didn’t get to talk before your RTW departure. Have fun, be safe, and please say hello to Nick & Ika for me!

Hey Sean!

You were in LAX and didn’t call me! Shame, shame… I could have picked you up for a quick beer & chat or a In & Out Burger run.

Maybe on the way home…

Have tons of fun, I’ll be reading your blog daily.

Cheers.
