CD to MP3 - u want in?

ok - Chris and I have been trying to convert our CD’s into MP3’s for a few years now.

I am considering using this service to burn them onto a hard drive that we can share.

So:

1) Do you want in?  ie send me CD’s that you have that you want in digital format

then we can send in a huge mofo order and make it cheaper per CD - I am not stuck on the above company (though I think they will do  - just a starting point.

Why do it?

1) More MP3’s for everyone
2) Lower cost the more we have
3) It’s very time consuming todo on your own

Let’s get an order for like 5000 unique CD’s!

Damn…for 95 cents per cd, I’ll rip them for you. It takes all of about 20 seconds of work per CD to drop them in a drive and push a button on the ripping program. Then about 2 minutes +/- later, the CD drive opens and the process is repeated. With that much money involved, I could dedicate a machine with several drives to ripping and get it done pretty quick :) - I’ve been thinking about doing it for myself. I have a few hundred CDs that would be much easier to use in a digital form.

I don’t have any CD’s to rip, but I have about 25 gigs of MP3 to sort/catalog and then find a way to post them somewhere. Anyone have a big huge drive online somewhere that has good bandwidth access, a streaming server and lotsa space to consolidate all this when you get done?

Ok, here goes. What’s MP3s? I understand they hold many CDs, but what do they look like? A CD? See what I mean? Don’t despair. Life gets better as you age!!
