Acapulco heat for spring-break

MSNBC - Acapulco heat for spring-break
Last week AP and NYTimes interviewed me about Spring Break in Acapulco.  The above article is the AP story.  Maybe NYTimes is coming out soon or I got skipped.  Either way, Spring Break is no doubt rockin this year like the past XX years…

Brian and Karl must remember our 1st spring break experience…we were 19.  Brian and I worked out very hard for like 3 months so we would be "ripped" for Spring Break in South Padre Island.  We loaded onto a bus at Northern Illiniois University for the 28 hour bus trip with a case of Miller Genuine Draft….determined to party like rock stars blah, blah, blah - just like MTV or some crap like that.

I pounded a few beers cuz we could not fit the cooler on the bus and we grabbed a few more MGD’s for the road.  The bus had a party atmosphere and I yelped and yowled for the first few hours  as I pounded the rest of the beers.  I feel asleep as the reality of a 28 hour bus journey set in.  I also started to feel sick.

I got up and went to the only bathroom in the back of the bus.  We were going 65 MPH down the highway.  As I chucked, the movement of the bus and my inability to control myself - vomit went everywhere.  On the mirror, sink, floor - everywhere but the toilet.  I remember feeling better….for a few minutes…

Until the stink of my vomit permeated the back of the bus and many folks hated me for it for a while…Only 24 more hours to South Padre and it smells bad…..real bad.  I remember a big buff dude sat right next to the bathroom on the way down…he hated me for a while…somehow, we became friends and had a good time that year…1992 I think it was.

Good memories…
