Video Phones and Respect

Teacher outburst caught on phone
This whole thing is sad for a lot of reasons.  The teacher is gonna be giving a lot of crap for losing his temper and probably much more.  The kids have blatant disrespect for elders.  It makes me sad all the way around - for everyone involved.  Parts of the full story are outlined on this page - surely there is more to it.  Being human, emotions, respect.

The last that I read (on the most excellent http://www.metafilter.com) was that the teacher “got away with it”. Who knows what will transpire after rabid parents discover that their little Meagan & Jasons are the laughing stock of the world.

The students pictured are not exactly little angels either, especially at that age. But be thankful that we do not live where there are required displays of faux patriotism.

Thats what hurt me the most to watch…was the blatant disrespect of the kids. Yes, the teacher should not have yelled and forced him to stand-up. (that was not fun to watch either) But, part of growing up, living, and getting along is sucking it up sometimes and just doing what you are told. It’s not like the teacher was telling them to eat a piece of shit from the school toilet bowl.

All around, a bad situation…any good stories of kids and teachers getting along, learning from each other out there?
