Startup.com: Isaza Tuzman

I just read Barry’s blog post about meeting up with the founder of govworks and what that guy is doing today…it reminded me that…

Nick, Chris, Ant and I watched this movie at our year-end meeting…2001.  I remembered watching on the Sunday nite just before the meetings started on Monday nite.  9/11 just happened, the world was scared, and dot coms had been going belly up left and right for a while now.

I remember that we were not scared…but excited because we did everything the opposite of the guys in that movie and all the folks that went broke.  Not that we did not make mistakes, sure we made tonnes…but I think we stayed super humble and hungry when everyone around us went nutz for the cash.  I think the traveling I did just before starting BnA with the guys kept up a bit more in our pants versus thinking we could change the world by taking investment dollars and acting like big shots.

Hopefully we will stay humble, while continuing to realize our strengths…..grow, learn and make our customers super happy.
