How to make great products

We’ve been busting our little arses the past few weeks as we prepare for our year-end meeting…and something that keeps coming up for me is…”How do we make great products“.

We have been around for 8 years and have various levels of success…and some of the things we do are gr8 from some travelers perspectives…but I don’t think we are nailing it on the head just yet.

The past 2 years, we have grown from a 6 person company to a 19 person company – the all the points of contact between has increased way more than the 13 peeps. Think about it – 19 peeps potentially staying in contact with 19 = 19 x 19 = 361 potential points of contact. Just keeping it all organized, knowing who does what, who is supposed todo what has been a challenge. Gone are the days of Nick, Chris, Sean and Ant in one room doing it all.

We refocused last year-end to focus on making the customer experience awesome…and in we are moving in that direction. Not there yet. Getting our processes worked out is a challenge – seems like the last 5 to 8% of a project is where we get delayed or things we are not connecting the dots to finish it near perfectly and get it according to our specs.

I am excited to meet away from the office to listen, learn, make decisions and make better products that travelers like me, drool over. 🙂

7 new soccer blogs for theOffside

After re-designing our World Cup Blog type of software, we are finally ready to get a few more soccer/football blogs going to compliment the excellent writing that Bob does.

Here they are:
Bundesliga (German Soccer League)
DC United (Team in MLS)
Mexico (Mexico has a league)
Arsenal (EPL Team and world power – Nick and Chris fav)
Chelsea (Yes… the Big, Rich team)
Scotland (soccer, kilts and single malt)

Looks like most of them are started…but we’ll be adjusting the homepage of theoffside shortly to incorporate all of these new blogs. Injoy!
