Blog Crap

LL pointed out today that she doesn’t like the format of my new blog with tags and everything.  I am not super stoked about it yet either.  I’m adding the bald picture back shortly and want to adjust some of the fonts and layout slightly.

Hope everyone is enjoying there weekend.  So beautiful in Portland.  I am lucky to be alive and enjoy such weather.

End of April

I’ve slacked on me blog for the past 7 days. We are just pounding to get ready to goto Germany and my personal blog gets little attention although there are many things to share that might be of interest.

Last Blazers Game of the Year

I got to goto the last Blazers game of the year thanks to LG (cheers mate!) Most might say, “who cares” with the losing season they have had. It was super interesting to see how they are dealing with Fan Appreciation night while finishing with the worst record in the league. Job well done.

Blogs, World Cup Growth, New BnA Forum and Being Angry vs Happy

  • Who’s reading all these blogs? Agreed…friends, acquaintances, and no one.
  • I am hoping this is true. BTW, here are our World Cup Blog advertising packages. Seriously, we are working hard to put ourselves into the middle of the river of energy that this tournament is all about. Hopefully this will sweep our sites to serious growth.
  • Donovan is starting a new forum on BnA. Our goal is to share our products and services with our active members. BnA is quite large, and often folks that frequent one part of the site, don’t know about the other parts at all. We hope to get some good critical feedback on our products and help them travel better/faster/cheaper.
  • Being Angry/Negative is Bad. I’ll add that you are/I am/we are products of our environments. If you hang around with negative people who are ripping on everyone and everything. You probably will too soon. If you hang with people who drive Mercedes, BMW’s and drink $10 lattes 2 times per day and watch soaps, you probably will be doing the same soon. When I went travelling around the world back in 96-97, I had short hair, was chunky – just like my co-workers. By the time I got back from India, I had long hair and was the most relaxed in my life (much like the other folks I traveled around in India).
  • We on occasion kick folks out of the BnA community that are not in the right spirit of what we are trying todo…and that is to cultivate and interactive community that encourages independent travel. If some new member is in there swearing and ripping on the way people travel etc, that doesn’t do it for us. Gone they are.

Shaggy Males, FIFA, Carbon Emissions, Rogue, and Mobile App

  • Shaggy Males more attractive to females. This explains a log of my sucess the past few years.
  • FIFA threatened us with Legal Action.
  • Carbon Emissions from airplanes are polluting the planet. This article talks about it. On a similiar note, BnA sponsored Sustainable Travel blog a few months ago and I forgot to tell folks. One of the Co-Founders, Brian came to our BnA travel party back in December.
  • Travel Channel is casting for a romantic couple to drop everything and travel around the world for 4 months. Why so short? Not a bad trip though. Check out our Rogue Travellers…hard core mofos.
  • One of the reasons I live in Portland, is that PDX does not have bad traffic. This mobile traffic app is kewl for all the folks stuck in gridlock. I imagine that Phoenix is next on the list. BLa!

Dead Poet’s Society

As I work my around to this time zone, I watched Dead Poet’s Society today, not having seen it since 1989.  It’s almost like seeing it for the 1st time after all these years.  Superb movie and some gr8 messaging about living life fully and going for it.  I reckon so many times I see folks “living lives of quiet desperation”, including myself.  Even though it is Hollywood and all that garbage, I like the message and how it left me feeling inspired.  O Captain my Captain! 🙂

Freeware Utilities, Energy Crisis, and WAYN

  • Handy page for Freeware Utilities
  • Good to see that if we experienced an energy shortage, Portland is one of the top 10 cities in the USA suspected of being able to cope the best. All them Priuses out there wouldn’t need to fill up as much as cities that don’t have as many. We have the max – that’s electric I think, and of course, very easy to bike around this city.
  • Got asked to join WAYN today by a friend. Went through the sign-up process. Took like 4 of 5 pages, and after it all, do I really want to submit all my trips to it? Not sure how it helps me…I already have a history on this site to a degree. Anyone else try it?

Brokeback Part 2

I am looking forward to this sequel and am surprised at the quality cast. It will surely be up for many Oscars again…”I wish I could quit you….”
